P5-P6 Parents Workshop and Conference

Sekolah Pelangi Kasih holds the workshop at the auditorium on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Parents are escorted to the auditorium. The principal starts the workshop with prayer.

The vice principal for curriculum matter, explains the programmes, the lesson, scoring, rules and instructions in school. It has the purpose of helping the parents to give a good guidance at home.

The principal also explains P5 and P6 school programmes, Retreat and Study Tour, where students will stay for a few nights (The purpose is that parents might not feel surprise later on) and parents are asked to prepare their children for P6 National Examination.

Mr. Fidelis Waruwu continues the workshop telling the parents that their children need the help from their parents in motivating their study at home. Parents should give positive and encouragement words to their children to make them become confident. Parents are also asked to be patient in accompanying their children while they are studying. The children feel happy when being accompanied by their parents. If it is done regularly, there will be a good result out of it. Parents should realize that every children have their own talents and cannot be pushed. When the talent is found it needs to be sharpened so that it can be applied in their life.

We realize that we will experience this situation. However, we hope that we can handle this condition earlier, so that children can grow well and live according to God’s will. In the workshop, parents are also instructed to be in pair where their fingers are folded and turned around, then our partner points to raise the hand. It is difficult to do so. It is easier if our fingers are touched and helped to raise. We can understand from here that parents must handle their children by speaking heart to heart with children and being patient in guiding and helping the children before they are going to change.

The workshop is also continued with the question and answer session by parents. The principal closes the workshop with prayer. We hope that with this activity, we can help parents in teaching and guiding their children. God bless.
