Primary 6 Parenting

Sekolah Pelangi Kasih holds the parenting meeting with Primary 6 students’ parents from September 17 to September 24, 2018. This activity is held at Sekolah Pelangi Kasih and starts with prayer.

We hold the activity, with the theme Using Gadget Wisely together with parents with the purpose so that parents can give the guidance in giving the communication device to their children. Gadget is the device that is essential to human nowadays even for children. Sekolah Pelangi Kasih holds the meeting to support the parents of the P6 students.

On this occasion, parents are given the result of the test done by students about the addiction to Gadget. Parents are also educated about the ways of lessening the Gadget addiction for children. One of the ways is to know the best time to give the gadget to children which is 12 years old according to the researchers from American Academy of Pediatrics. Another impact of gadget addiction is pornography resulting in the children will be able to see the inappropriate contents and the pedophiliac who is targeting the children.

One of the signs of gadget addiction is children will have difficulty in focusing on doing something for a long time like studying for example.

After the parenting material is given, every parent is given the chance to ask and tell about their children in using the gadget. We also present homeroom teacher so parents can interact directly to know their children progress at school outside the academic aspect.

The activity is ended with question and answer session for parents and closed with prayer. We are eager to aid parents in helping their children grow, learn and play in a balance portion.
